<p> Dozens of World War II enthusiasts will be on hand in Old Bethpage this weekend to reenact battle scenes in similar fashion to Civil War re-enactments that have taken place for decades. This weekend’s encampment will take place at the Old Bethpage Restoration Village, a 209-acre facility that features houses and other structures meant to resemble a 19th century rural Long Island village. <p>In particular, baseball fans have more options than ever on trips to Yankee Stadium and trips to Fenway Park. No fewer than 11 of Broach’s 27 baseball tours for the 2012 season are highlighted by games in New York and/or Boston.</p>

<p>“Fans love Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park, so we’re giving them more opportunities than ever to experience the thrill of being there,” Broach said. “Of course, we have travel packages to all 30 Major League stadiums this summer, but there’s something extra special about our trips to New York and Boston.”</p>

<p>The variety ranges from weekend getaways to New York and Boston to 12-day Deluxe Northeast packages. Fans usually ride on Broach’s new Broach Coaches – state-of-the-art 56-passenger motorcoaches – on most trips, but also have the option to fly on some trips.</p>

<p>The headliner is the 12-day Deluxe Northeast Tour package, which runs from June 29-July 9. The trip starts in Baltimore, then heads on to New York for two Yankees games, on to Pittsburgh, then on to Cleveland (with a visit to the Pro Football Hall of Fame), then on to Detroit, Toronto, Cooperstown for the Baseball Hall of Fame, then on to Boston and finally back to New York for a Mets game.</p>

<p>Broach’s Turnpike Tour runs Aug. 17-22, starting in Washington, then going to New York for two Yankees games and one Mets game, then ending in Philadelphia.</p>

<p>Broach’s Classic Northeast Mini-Tour runs July 17-23. It starts in Washington, goes on to New York for a Yankees game, on to Boston, back through Cooperstown, back to New York for a Mets game, and ends in Philadelphia.</p>

<p>Broach’s New York and Boston Loop Tour runs July 18-22, starting in New York with a Yankees game, then heading up to Boston, back through Cooperstown and ending in New York with a Mets game.</p>

<p>Broach has even come up with a Yankee Stadium-U.S. Open tennis package for those wishing to combine baseball and tennis over Labor Day weekend, Sept. 3-6. Fans have the option of seeing two Yankees games and spend one day at the U.S. Open, or spend two days at tennis and see one Yankees game.</p>

<p> The Animal Behavior Management Alliance (ABMA) is holding their 2012 conference in the San Francisco Bay Area on May 6-11, 2012. Oakland Zoo proudly supports the not-for-profit corporation with a membership comprised of animal care professionals and other individuals interested in enhancing animal care through training and enrichment. </p>

<p>ABMA’s membership is comprised of professionals from all over the world and represents a wide variety of species, from mammals to birds to reptiles and even invertebrates. “The annual conference is an opportunity to get this diverse group together, from as far away as the Czech Republic, Austria, England, and Australia and share new ideas about using positive reinforcement training and environmental enrichment to enhance the husbandry and welfare of the animals in our care,” said Margaret Rousser, Zoological Manager at Oakland Zoo.</p>

<p>The conference will feature speakers such as Dr. Hal Markowitz, enrichment pioneer and author of Behavioral Enrichment in the Zoo and Dr. David Shepherdson, editor of the ground breaking book, Second Nature. Elizabeth Abram, Andrea Dougall, and Gina Kinzley, zookeepers at Oakland Zoo, will also present papers on Oakland Zoo’s unique goat training program, innovative otter training, and the Zoo’s progressive elephant observation programs.  In addition, several other zookeepers from Oakland Zoo will present posters on the Zoo’s enrichment program.</p>

<p>On Thursday, May 10, Oakland Zoo will host Jennifer Jolly for a media workshop at the ABMA conference.
